UDIA is pleased to provide our comments on the proposed Nature Positive (Environment) Act (NPE Act) following the latest lockup held 27 March 2024.
We have provided a summary of the main issues we see following our review of the consultation documents provided during EPBC lockup #4 in Appendix 1. This submission should be read in conjunction with the earlier Lock-up submissions as there are significant amendments outstanding (understandably).
UDIA National continues to be a strong supporter of the Government’s initiative to overhaul the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) to streamline assessments and approvals as well as improve environmental, social and economic outcomes.
