Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) the peak body representing the property development industry throughout Australia today announced the appointment of Peter Sherrie into the role of National Chief Operating Officer.
“This strategic appointment was made given the importance of our evidence-based research, policy and advocacy work on the Housing Crisis to all levels of government, State, Federal and Local,” said Col Dutton, UDIA National President.
Peter brings to this newly created role, significant industry background and board roles and in particular his experience with UDIA in various roles including as National President, QLD State President and achieving Life Member for both state and national bodies.
“I am delighted to be offered this opportunity which will allow me to continue to contribute to such an important industry which benefits all Australians in their everyday lives. With the housing crisis being front and centre of critical issues facing both sides of government it will allow UDIA to play an important role in providing solutions on how to tackle these issues,” said Peter Sherrie, UDIA National Chief Operating Officer.
In line with our 2025 UDIA Election Platform, Peter’s focus with be on Housing Policy, Infrastructure Coordination, Funding for Housing and more coordinated and timely Environmental Approvals particularly across Federal and State bodies and Industry Capacity.
Peter will work closely alongside the CEOs of each UDIA State body to ensure all state membership priorities are considered and are promoted in our interactions with the Federal Government.
