Southpoint, South Bank by Anthony John Group successfully combines a luxury residential apartment building, an office tower and a hotel building with the existing 130-year-old “Collin’s Place” a restored heritage building, to form a visually impressive and cohesive project.

Southpoint has transformed the southern gateway to Southbank into a thriving self-sufficient lifestyle destination where people can live, work and play.

Constructed over an operating busway and adjacent to an operating train line makes the project even more impressive. The heritage building was elevated some 800mm to integrate with a new podium structure, which speaks to the dedication of the developer to the quality outcome that has resulted.

The judges were impressed with the creative approaches to overcome the various challenges presented by the site. In addition, streetscape integration has been carefully considered, and the range of uses in the project ensure round-the-clock activation. This is a project befitting of Southbank’s last development site.
