In one of the best pockets of inner-city Melbourne, Howard West by C Street Projects has brought together a diverse community through a clever, considered design. Rather than demolishing this former industrial building, the developer painstakingly incorporated original heritage features, underpinned and redeveloped it to provide a luxury residential and commercial offering. The heritage fabric made this project a prime candidate to reset the residential market in West Melbourne, achieving not only record values for the area, but delivering an unparalleled product, without change to the streetscape. 

The judges were particularly impressed by the unwavering commitment and tenacity required to deliver such a high-quality project on such a small scale. Howard West is considered an exemplar of heritage reuse and adaption.
