About the Winner

The Terraces, Paddington is a vertically integrated over-55s community located in a sought-after Sydney, operated by Presbyterian Aged Care and Cottee Parker Architects. Supported by a resort-style reception area, retail and hospitality spaces, the residential elements of the project – both independent and assisted living – provide access to multiple opportunities for residents to remain physically and socially active.

The landscaped setting linking all buildings a terraced-indoor cinema, a gym with an indoor spa, pool and health club, a resident lounge and an on-site café hairdressing salon and beauty therapist. 

The judges believe that The Terraces, Paddington, represents a benchmark development in seniors’ living, truly integrating residential aged care facilities with a range of independent living units across five buildings. 

The repurposed significant heritage buildings, despite major level changes across the site, successfully retained significant heritage trees and vegetation and fits in seamlessly with the surrounding residential neighbourhood.
