About the Winner

EI8ht by Chasecrown is a statement building that adds to the grandeur of the seaside. The landmark residential building with striking architecture, is heavily influenced by the site’s coastal location and the relationship to the adjacent iconic state heritage building, Seafield Tower, one of Adelaide’s grandest beach mansions dating back to 1876. 

EI8ht, by Chasecrown delivers 52 luxury apartments on a site of only 1840m2 along the foreshore of Glenelg, one of Adelaide’s most prestigious metropolitan beaches and reflects 21st century lifestyles, attitudes to environment and urban responsibility. 

Through purposeful negotiations Chasecrown was able to successfully attain and incorporate the restoration of the adjoining heritage building enabling it to give back to the community via a high spec public walkway connection to the beach front. 

The judges were impressed by the courage of Chasecrown and EI8ht to extend and challenge the Adelaide market by setting a new bar for this type of development.
